President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Christodoulides met with the President of Poland today at noon, as part of his official visit to the country, at the invitation of the Polish President.
This is the first official visit of the President of the Republic of Cyprus to Poland.
President Christodoulides, accompanied by his wife Mrs. Philippa Karchera Christodoulides, went to the Presidential Palace in Warsaw, where he was received by the President of Poland, Mr. Andrzej Duda and his wife, while a military procession paid tribute.
The national anthems of the two countries were played and then the President of the Republic inspected the military procession. Immediately afterwards the two Presidents attended a one-to-one meeting.
Two Memoranda of Understanding on cooperation between the two countries in the fields of Sport and Intellectual Property Protection will then be signed.
On behalf of the Republic of Cyprus, the Memoranda of Understanding will be signed by the Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Ms Marilena Rauna.
On behalf of Poland, the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of Sport will be signed by Mr Sławomir Nitras, Minister of Sport and Tourism, and the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of Intellectual Property Protection will be signed by Mr Marek Prawda, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
