The President of the Republic, Mr Nicos Christodoulides, accompanied by his wife Mrs Philippa Karseras Christodoulides and members of the Cypriot delegation, had a meeting with Pope Francis I at the Holy See today.
The President of the Republic and Pope Francis I had an initial private meeting and then Pope Francis I received the members of the Cypriot delegation.
Pope Francis I presented the President of the Republic with a medal depicting the Basilica of St. Peter's, while the President of the Republic presented Pope Francis I with a silver copy of an olive tree symbolizing peace.
Subsequently, the President of the Republic and the Cypriot delegation had a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Holy See, Cardinal Parolin.
The President of the Republic will then have a meeting with ENI officials at the company's offices in Rome.
