The President of the Republic Mr.Nikos Christodoulides had a meeting with the Prime Minister of Lebanon Mr.Najib Mikati at the Presidential Palace today.
During the meeting, the President of the Republic referred, among other things, to the excellent relations between the two countries and expressed the desire to further strengthen them.
He assured that the Republic of Cyprus stands by the people of Lebanon, noting that Cyprus is a friend of the country within the EU as well.
For his part, the Lebanese Prime Minister congratulated President Christodoulides on his election to the Presidency of the Republic.
He also noted the long-standing relations of friendship and the close ties that link the two countries.
Afterwards, President Christodoulides hosted a working lunch for the Prime Minister and members of the Lebanese delegation.
