[PIO] The President of the Republic goes to Egypt and Jordan

The President of the Republic Mr.Nicos Christodoulides will leave tomorrow morning for Egypt and then for Jordan, where he will have meetings with the leaders of the two countries.

The President of the Republic will have a meeting with the President of Egypt Mr. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, at the Presidential Palace in Cairo tomorrow at 8 a.m., while at 9 a.m. the two leaders will make statements to the media.

The President of the Republic will then go to Jordan, where he will have a meeting with King Abdullah II at the Al Husseiniya Palace in Amman. This will be followed by a working lunch.

The President's meetings will focus on developments in the region, efforts to implement the Republic of Cyprus' initiative to create a maritime corridor to provide humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza and developments in the Cyprus problem.

The bilateral relations between Cyprus and the two countries will also be discussed, as well as issues concerning Egyptian and Jordanian relations with the EU.

The President of the Republic, who will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombos, Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letibiotis and the Director of his Diplomatic Office Marilena Raouna, will return to Cyprus in the afternoon of the same day.
