The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mrs. Anita Demetriou received today the MP from Ilia, former Commissioner of the European Union and former Minister of Greece, Mr. Dimitris Avramopoulos, who is in Cyprus.
The meeting discussed - among other issues - the migration problem facing Europe and particularly Cyprus and Greece and the impact of this issue on the society and political life of the Old Continent. This was followed by an exchange of views on the present and future of European integration. Finally, the need to tackle - through legislation - the phenomena of misinformation, hate speech, false news and the targeting of political figures in social media was discussed,
