The President of the Republic Mr.Nikos Christodoulides received this afternoon, at the Presidential Palace, the President and the Members of the Initiative Group of Unaccompanied Children in Greece 1974 - 1979.
After the meeting, the Deputy Government Spokesman Mr. The President of the Republic received the group of unaccompanied children who went to Greece and were hosted after the war from '74 to '79.
There were five thousand children. There are many human stories, each child had their own story about what they experienced at that time.
We are grateful to the Greek people for their hospitality and we just want to highlight these stories to commemorate the people who helped these children, who gave a refuge in the difficult time that the Cypriot people were going through.

And we want, through a series of events organized by the Association, the Republic to stand by them, to support them and to highlight this unknown side of the tragedy of '74".
