The Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry expresses its disappointment at yesterday's publication of a letter from consumer organisations to the Minister, dated 18 September 2023, and the personal attack on the Director of the Consumer Protection Service, Mr. Konstantinos Karagiorgis, even choosing the day of the article debate in the relevant Parliamentary Committee, the bill on the electronic application "e-kalathi", in which he took part.
The Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry, through the Minister and its Director General, fully supports the Director and staff of the Consumer Protection Agency for their work and dedication to consumer protection, especially under the conditions of accuracy that we are experiencing today. At the same time, it calls upon consumer organisations to join forces with the Service to achieve the common goal, which is none other than to safeguard the interests and welfare of the Cypriot consumer.
