Issues concerning the Paediatric Oncology Department of Makareion Hospital were discussed today, during a meeting of the Minister of Health with associations actively involved in the issue of childhood cancer. The meeting was attended by parents of children hospitalized at the Pediatric Oncology Department.
In his statements after the meeting Mr Damianos noted that the associations were asked to submit written memos, in which their views and suggestions are recorded, so that they can be studied by the Ministry of Health in order to initiate solutions to the problems that exist.
He also said that on Friday afternoon he visited the Makarios Hospital, where he was briefed on the planning regarding the construction projects for the expansion and upgrading of the hospital.
"Our goal is to solve problems and this is what we have been trying to achieve since the day I took office," Damianos concluded.
