[PIO] The Minister of Energy, Trade and Industry met with the Saudi Minister of Trade in Riyadh

Minister of Energy, Trade and Industry Ms Natasha Pilidou met today with the Minister of Commerce of Saudi Arabia, Mr Majid bin Abdullah al-Qassabi, on the sidelines of the President's official visit to Riyadh.

During the meeting, the two Ministers discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in a wide range of sectors, such as tourism, especially conference tourism, investment in hotels, investment funds, cooperation in financial and economic services, cooperation in the field of education, exchange of know-how in new technologies for renewable energy sources, cooperation in the field of aquaculture, health, etc.

The meeting also stressed the need to set specific objectives and priorities in relation to enhancing bilateral cooperation, including through the holding of a Forum to explore ways for mutual investment in various sectors.

The discussion was also held on the basis of relevant proposals submitted by the Government of Cyprus in a document prepared with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation for mutual engagement in a wide range of sectors between Cyprus and Saudi Arabia.
