The Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, Ms Athena Michaelidou, is travelling to Belgrade today to participate in the Cyprus-Serbia Cooperation Council. During the Council, she will hold bilateral meetings with her counterparts, the Serbian Minister of Education Ms. Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic and the Minister of Sport Mr. Zoran Gajic, and will sign a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the field of Education between the two countries. Michailidou will depart for Vienna to welcome the institutionalized "Cypriot Concert", which is organized annually by the Cyprus Cultural Centre in Vienna, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth, the Deputy Ministry of Culture and the Cyprus Youth Symphony Orchestra, with the participation of the Cyprus Music Schools.
During her visit to Vienna, Mrs. Michaelides will meet with the Metropolitan of Austria, Archbishop of Hungary and Meso-Europe, Mr. Arsenios, at the Austrian Metropolis, where she will also deliver a financial contribution for the historic Hellenic National School of Vienna, the oldest active school of the Greek diaspora.
The Minister returns to Cyprus on 27 November 2023.
