[PIO] The Minister of Defence goes to Brussels to participate in the Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union

Defence Minister Michael Yiorgallas is travelling to Brussels today to participate in the meeting of European Union (EU) Defence Ministers, which will take place on 14 November 2023.

The Defence Ministers will discuss future EU-NATO relations and exchange views on the situation in Ukraine and the crisis in the Middle East in the presence of the NATO Secretary General.

As part of their briefing on the current situation in Ukraine, they will consider measures to further support Ukraine and ways to accelerate the provision and coverage of its immediate needs.

In addition, the Defence Ministers will be briefed by the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Mr. Josep Borell regarding EU missions and the development of EU defence and security initiatives.
