The Labour Inspection Department of the Ministry of Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance announces that the Minimum Safety and Health Standards (Use of Personal Protective Equipment at Work) (Amendment) Regulations 2021 (K.D.P. 535/2021) which harmonize the Cyprus Legislation with the European Directive 2019/1832 which amends Directive 89/656/EEC and concerns technical adaptations to the use of personal protective equipment at work.
The main purpose of the new Regulations is to adapt Annexes I, II and III to new provisions for the classification of risks as defined in European Regulation 2016/425 which lays down the provisions governing the design, manufacture and marketing of personal protective equipment. Also, the amendment of the Annexes adopts the terminology and types of personal protective equipment in Regulation 2016/425.
