[PIO] The increase of the annual state subsidy granted to the occupied communities approved by the Council of Ministers

Taking into account the important work carried out by the Community Councils of the occupied communities in terms of enlightenment and information on the Cyprus problem, the Council of Ministers today approved the proposal to increase the annual state grant from €1,000 to €2,000.

The decision is part of a series of measures within the Government's refugee policy to support the Occupied Communities and strengthen their activities, recognising their essential contribution to maintaining communication among refugees and preserving the memory of the occupied areas.

A total of 137 Community Councils of Occupied Communities will benefit from the doubling of the amount of the grant.
