The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces the official opening of the new Post Office in the Livadia area. The ceremony was held yesterday, Friday, in the presence of the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Mr. Alexis Vafeades, the Metropolitan of Kition, Members of Parliament, the Mayor of Larnaca, the Mayor of Livadia, Presidents of the Community Councils of the area, as well as a large number of citizens.

The Minister welcomed the completion of this important project, which is expected to significantly improve the quality of postal services in the region. The new post office is equipped with modern infrastructure and technologies, ensuring better service to citizens in functional facilities with easy access.

The operation of the office reflects the State's policy of close cooperation with local authorities, as the Municipality of Livadia provided all assistance and made available property for future construction of a privately owned Post Office by the Department of Postal Services.

Mr. Vafades stated that the policy of supporting local communities is a standing policy of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works. He informed that by the end of the year it is planned to operate Citizen Centres in the Municipality of Athienou and in the community of Kition, which will be housed in buildings provided by the local authorities. In addition, in 2025 it is planned to operate a Post Office and a Citizen Centre in the community of Malounta.

These projects are part of the reform of local government and in particular the clustering of communities.

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works continues to support the work of the Cyprus Post Office, a project which is not only limited to the provision of postal services but also services with emphasis on their social character and the optimal use of their postal network as well as on the upgrading of services and better service to citizens.
