The House of Representatives strongly condemns the large-scale military attack launched by Azerbaijan on Nagorno-Karabakh.

This action constitutes a violation of the agreed ceasefire and an escalation of violence on the part of Azerbaijan against the Armenian population of Nagorno Karabakh, to whom it has illegally imposed a month-long blockade, violating their fundamental human rights and cutting off their access to basic necessities.

Of further concern is Turkey's overt support for Azerbaijan's aggression and the Turkish President's statement yesterday before the UN General Assembly

The House of Representatives stands with the international community, calling for an immediate end to Azerbaijan's unprovoked and illegal attack on the Armenian population of Nagorno Karabakh, observance of the agreed ceasefire and de-escalation in order to allow for the resumption of dialogue to achieve lasting peace and security.

In particular, the House of Representatives, recalling its previous relevant resolutions, calls on Azerbaijan to end the humanitarian crisis by immediately lifting the blockade of the Lachin corridor and restoring the human rights of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh, in accordance with its international commitments and international law.

The House of Representatives expresses its full support and solidarity with the suffering Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh and with the friendly Armenian people.
