The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that today, Sunday, 24 September 2023 at 03:50, a forest fire broke out in the location "Anifora" of the Community of Prasteios Kellaki, Limassol District. The fire was brought under control at 06:30, burning an area of two decares with pine trees and low wild vegetation.
10 persons of the Forestry Department with three fire engines participated in the extinguishing operation. The Forestry Department's operation was assisted by the Fire Department with 15 personnel and six fire engines, as well as two members of the Game and Wildlife Service with one fire engine.
Forces remain on the fire in case of reignition.
The fire was caused by an overturned private vehicle.
