The Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth (Directorate of Secondary General Education and Pedagogical Institute of Cyprus), in collaboration with the Department of Philology of the Faculty of Philosophy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (E.K.P.A.) and the Cyprus Studies Laboratory (ER.CY.ME.) of the Department of Philology of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Hellenic University, the Department of Classical Studies and Philosophy of the University of Cyprus, the Association of Greek Cyprus Philologists "Stasinos" and the Association of Greek Cypriot Philologists S.E.K.F. - O.E.L.M.E.K, organizes the Fifth International Scientific Conference of the cycle "Ancient Cypriot Literature throughout the Centuries", with the special aspect of "The founding myths of Cyprus throughout the centuries and Homer".
The Conference will take place on Tuesday, 26 March 2024 (16:00 - 19:30) and Wednesday, 27 March 2024 (8:30 - 13:00) at the Pancyprian Gymnasium in Nicosia.
The conference is addressed a) to teachers of Secondary and Primary Education, b) to the academic community of Cyprus, c) to writers and scholars as well as d) to the general public.
By presenting original papers, the conference aims to promote the study of Ancient Cypriot Literature both at the scientific level and in educational practice.

The whole approach will be interdisciplinary and will cover aspects of literature, art, music and language throughout the ages. The connection between Ancient Cypriot Literature as a cultural product and the historical course of Cyprus will be evident and its contribution to the formation of national identity and the general development of culture on our island will be highlighted.
