The Office of the Environment Commissioner in cooperation with the Environment and Sustainable Development Education Unit of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth are organising Workshop on "From local to global protection.

The Workshop is open to the public and aims to inform the communities of the Diarizo and Xeropotamos Valleys as well as interested stakeholders about UNESCO's "Man and Biosphere (MAB)" programme, in the context of which the sustainable development of the areas included in it and the harmonious relationship of people with their natural environment is achieved. Through the process of programme development, planning and implementation of relevant projects and actions - in order to prepare a region for its potential inclusion in the above-mentioned programme - all parameters are defined in order to achieve the livelihood of people and the preservation of natural and managed ecosystems, thus promoting innovative approaches to economic development that are socially and culturally appropriate and environmentally sustainable.
