The Educational Psychology Service (YEPS) of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth (YEPAN), in the context of a large series of actions concerning the smooth transition of students from primary to secondary school, "Emotional Needs of Children during the Transition from Primary to Secondary School", on Saturday, 13 April 2024, from 9:30 π.p.m. to 1:00 p.m..
Throughout the workshop, Educational Psychologists will be available to parents/guardians to answer any questions they may have.
The workshop will be held in all districts simultaneously.
The venues are: Drosia Primary School KB - "Michalakis Paridis"[/B]
Famagusta: Paralimniu Primary School C'
Paphos: Paphos Primary School I' - "Evagoras Pallikaridis"
At the workshop the Educational Psychologists of YEPS will develop the following three themes:
1) The Protective Factors in issues of smooth transition and in life in general.
2) Adolescence: a period of major changes in every area of children's lives (cognitive, physical, emotional). By being aware of these changes, parents can more easily understand their adolescents' emotions and challenging reactions.
3) The contribution of Mental Resilience in managing anxiety and other difficult situations/challenges. Mental resilience is an important skill for everyone and especially for adolescents as they transition from childhood to adolescence, from dependence to independence, from obedience to seeking. Mental resilience includes the ability to cope with difficulties, flexibility in change and the ability to maintain a positive attitude towards life.
The Educational Psychology Service believes that the cooperation of all educational partners and primarily parents/guardians creates positive conditions and ensures a smoother transition for all students.
