[PIO] The Deputy Ministry of Culture expresses its sorrow for the death of the director Andreas Konstantinidis

The Deputy Ministry of Culture sadly bids farewell to the director Andreas Konstantinidis, who left us yesterday for the great journey to eternity.
Andreas Konstantinidis was born in Nicosia in 1944. He graduated from the High School of Arenas Kykkos and studied cinema, theatre and television in Athens. After graduation, he returned to Cyprus and in 1968 he started working at RIK as a television programme officer, a position he held until his retirement in 2004. He directed productions that left an indelible mark both for their subject matter and for their directorial excellence. His signature historical documentaries, films and plays have won awards locally and internationally, showcasing his talent and dedication to the art.
In addition to his tenure at RIK, he was a member of the Film Advisory Committee for two terms, President of the Cyprus Film Archive, President of the Nicosia Film Club and member of the Film Classification Committee, offering his wisdom untold in order to develop the culture of our country.

Andreas Konstantinidis' name will forever be engraved in the cinematographic and directorial achievements of RIK and all of Cyprus. Above all, he will remain engraved in the hearts of those who knew him and worked with him for his genuine generosity and his tireless contribution to the good of our cinema. His vision and dedication to cinema set a high standard of excellence that is truly admirable.
With deepest gratitude and respect, the Deputy Ministry of Culture expresses its condolences to his family and loved ones.
