The opening of the 75th Frankfurt International Book Fair was attended by the Deputy Minister of Culture, Dr Vasiliki Kassianidou, in which, after a long absence, Cyprus participates again through the Cyprus Publishers Association.
The Frankfurt International Book Fair, which took place on 16-19 October 2023, is the most important event in the publishing world, where representatives of Cypriot publishing companies had the opportunity to present Cypriot book production.
On the instructions of Dr. Kassianidou, the Deputy Ministry of Culture decided to support the participation of the Cyprus Publishers Association in this event, covering a large part of the costs associated with the presentation of the national pavilion of our country and the Cypriot participation in general.
It is noted that, apart from the Frankfurt Book Fair, the Ministry of Culture, as part of the measures taken to strengthen the Cypriot publishing industry, promotes the institutionalisation of the presence of Cypriot publishing companies at important International Book Fairs. These measures fall under the pillar of the extroversion of our country's contemporary culture and in the context of cultural diplomacy, which the State Ministry of Culture focuses on in its policy.
During her presence in Frankfurt, the Deputy Minister of Culture had a meeting with the Minister of Federal and European Affairs and Plenipotentiary of the State of Hesse, Mrs. Lucia Puttrich.
