The National Action Plan for the establishment of a European Guarantee for Children was presented before her European counterparts by the Deputy Minister of Social Welfare Ms Anastasia Anthousi. Ms Anthoussi participated today in a Conference on "Building Europe's future: implementing the European Child Guarantee", in Paris.
The National Action Plan, which is in line with the European Child Guarantee, refers to the social priorities of the Republic of Cyprus for the period 2022-2030. It aims to ensure that every child at risk, in poverty and/or social exclusion has access to all essential services, such as free health care, education and care, as well as adequate housing and healthy nutrition. The National Action Plan is also expected to contribute to the harmonisation of child and family policies with the rights of the child.
The coordinator of the National Action Plan is the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare, which will be responsible for monitoring the implementation of the actions included in it, with the assistance of all relevant Ministries.
