[PIO] The Council of Ministers approved a bill to continue the exemption of public assistance recipients from civil lawsuits for overdue debts

The Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance announces that in order to protect recipients of Public Assistance and Minimum Guaranteed Income (MGA), the Council of Ministers today, Thursday, 24 August 2023, approved a bill to continue their exemption from civil lawsuits for overdue contributions until July 2024.

Specifically, the bill entitled "The Regulation of Overdue Social Contributions (Amendment) Act, 2023" provides for the amendment of Article 12 of the principal Act and will be tabled in the House of Representatives for debate in the relevant Parliamentary Committee, so that upon its adoption, beneficiaries will continue to enjoy the benefits of inclusion in the regulatory framework of the Regulation of Overdue Social Contributions Act.
