The Commissioner of the Cyprus Agricultural Payments Agency (CAP) Mr. Mr. Andreas Evangellou and other members of the Agency, met today with the Ambassador of Cyprus in Athens Mr. Stavros Avgoustidis and the Commercial Counsellor Mr. Mr Kyprianou informed the Ambassador about yesterday's meeting with the Payment and Control Agency for Community Support for Guidance and Guarantee (OPEKEPE) and the Memorandum of Understanding between the two payment agencies.

He also informed the Ambassador about the procedures and ways of managing the European funds through the CAP, as well as the Agency's European subsidy programmes.
Mr. Kyprianou asked the Ambassador for his support in upgrading the promotion of traditional Cypriot products in Greece and the cooperation between the two parties for the well-intentioned interest of the Cypriot agricultural economy.

For his part, the Ambassador thanked the Commissioner for Rural Payments for today's meeting and said that the promotion of traditional Cypriot products in Greece needs to be upgraded. The Ambassador then informed the attendees about the efforts made by the Cyprus Trade Centre of Athens in this direction.
