[PIO] The Commissioner for Personal Data Protection recommends caution in the publication of personal data of third parties

On the occasion of recent publications concerning the Holy Monastery of Saint Avvakum, because several questions have been raised in my Office, I wish to remind you that no photos, videos or other data of persons who have no direct connection and/or involvement with the issue in question should be published. These persons are not part of public life and do not belong to the sphere of current affairs.

If a citizen or a journalist wishes to post or publish images depicting believers, he or she should blur their faces so that they cannot be identified.

I would like to take this opportunity to state that I am following developments concerning this matter, answering questions and giving guidance where necessary.
