[PIO] The Commissioner for Personal Data Protection and Vice-President of the European Data Protection Board participated in the 7th Annual

On 14 November 2023, Commissioner for Personal Data Protection - Vice-President of the European Data Protection Board (EDPS) Ms Irini Loizidou Nikolaidou represented the EDPS at the 7th Annual Brussels Privacy Symposium, organised by the Brussels Privacy Hub of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the non-profit organisation Future of Privacy Forum, in Brussels. For this year, the title of the Symposium was "Understanding the European Data Strategy Architecture."

In the context of the Symposium, the Commissioner/Vice President delivered a speech entitled "The role of the EDPS in relation to the Digital Markets Act and the Digital Services Act". In her speech, Ms. Loizidou Nicolaidou outlined the actions of the ESRB aimed at aligning the implementation of these Acts with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and expressed the willingness of the ESRB to assist in the implementation of the Union's new digital regulatory framework.
