[PIO] The Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Republic of Moldova presented his credentials

The new Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Republic of Moldova, Mr Marios Kountourides, presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Moldova, Mrs Maia Sandu, at an official ceremony held at the Presidential Palace on 15 September 2023.

In the private meeting that followed, the Ambassador conveyed the warm greetings of the President of the Republic Mr. Nicos Christodoulides to President Sandu, as well as an invitation for an official visit of the Moldovan official to Cyprus. For her part, President Sandu extended an invitation to the President of the Republic to visit Moldova in the near future.

During the meeting, the friendly relations between the two countries were confirmed and the commitment to further strengthen and deepen cooperation was underlined. Mr Kountourides also had the opportunity to brief President Sandu on developments in the Cyprus issue and on the President's initiative to resume negotiations.
