[PIO] The Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Ireland presented his credentials

The new Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Ireland, Mr Louis Telemachou, presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Michael D. Higgins, at a special ceremony held on Friday, 10 November 2023, at the Oras an Uctoron Palace in Dublin.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Telemachus conveyed the cordial greetings and the personal wishes of the President of the Republic Mr. Nicos Christodoulides to further deepen the already excellent relations between the two countries.

Mr Telemachus referred to the traditionally excellent relations between Cyprus and Ireland, which have been further strengthened by both countries' membership of the EU. Ambassador Telemachu also expressed Cyprus' sincere thanks for Ireland's principled stance on the Cyprus problem and for respecting the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Cyprus. In this context, he expressed the deep gratitude of the Cypriot Government and people for the long-standing participation of Irish peacekeepers in UNFICYP.

President Higgins wished the new Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus every success in his work, stressing that he and his Government would have his and his Government's full support in strengthening the already excellent relations between Cyprus and Ireland.
