From 06:00 on 21 February 2022 until 06:00 on 22 February 2022, the Fire Service responded to 24 calls for assistance, 9 fires, 12 special services and 3 false calls.
At 19:31 yesterday, a call was received for a grass fire in the village of Augustus. The Famagusta Fire Station Sergeant Adamou Adamou with a firefighting team and 1 (one) fire engine responded. Upon arrival, the firefighting team found that the fire was in a wheeled food preparation canteen, which was parked in an open area. The fire was extinguished prior to the arrival of the Fire Department by persons in the area. Final extinguishing was carried out on behalf of the Fire Service. The fire and heat caused extensive damage to the canteen, the cause of which will be investigated later today in conjunction with the Police.
At 02:18, a call was received for a vehicle fire in Palluriotissa. The vehicle, a BMW brand, was parked in an open area. Members of the Police and Fire Department from the Kaimaklion and Paphos Gate Fire Station responded with 3 (three) fire engines and the fire was brought under control at 02:36. Due to the fire and heat, the vehicle was extensively damaged. An investigation into the cause of the fire will follow later today, in cooperation with the Police.
