From 06:00 on 31 January 2022 until 06:00 on 1 February 2022, the Fire Service responded to 10 calls for assistance, 6 fires and 4 special services.
At 01:40 a call was received for possible trapped persons following the collapse of part of a brick, two-storey house in Aradippou. The Larnaca Fire Station of Lieutenant Andreas Papadopoulos responded with a team and rescue vehicle. Upon arrival, the rescue team began searching the wreckage of the residence. The Fire Service had immediately contacted the owner of the two-storey, brick house, who reported that there were 6 (six) foreigners of Indian origin living in the house.
In cooperation with the Police, a determination was initiated as to whether or not the occupants were inside the house and it became apparent that there were no persons inside the house at that time.
The Fire Service, continued a more intensive investigation with the activation of operational procedures of the Fire Department, where, with the use of detection dogs, it was fully established that there was no person inside the home. The scene was secured by the Police and handed over to the Aradippou Town Hall for further investigation.
