The Fire Service from 06.00 on 27 December 2021 until 06.00 on 28 December 2021 responded to 33 calls for assistance, 23 fires, 7 special services and 3 false calls.
At 11:50 yesterday, the Fire Service received a call for a fire in 200 hay bales, in an open area, in the Livestock area in Klaydia, Larnaca. Larnaca Fire Station responded with a firefighting team and a Tanker Vehicle. The fire is estimated to have been caused by spontaneous combustion.
At 15.30 yesterday, a call was received for a road accident on the Pegeia - Kathika road, in Paphos. The Paphos Fire Station responded with a team and rescue vehicle. A NISSAN QASHQAI motor vehicle, veered off course and overturned on the side of the road, resulting in the driver of the vehicle being trapped. Hydraulic rescue tools were used to extricate her and after being given First Aid in cooperation with the Ambulance Service she was transported by ambulance to Paphos General Hospital.
