[PIO] The action of the Fire Service during the last three days

During the three-day period, from 06:00 on 18 August 2023 until 06:00 on 21 August 2023, the Fire Service responded to 76 calls for assistance, 33 fires, 33 special services and 10 false calls.

From 06:00 on August 20, 2023 through 06:00 on August 21, 2023, the Fire Department responded to 23 calls for assistance, 14 fires, eight special services and one false call.

At 10:09 yesterday, at the request of the Police, a team of detection dogs of the Special Disaster Response Unit (SDU) responded to assist in an operation to find a missing elderly person in the area of Kossies, Larnaca District.

At 20:40, at the request of the Police, a team with a rescue vehicle from the St. John Fire Station Sergeant Vasilis Krokou responded to assist in an operation to retrieve a person from a difficult area, in the Kanto livestock area, in Limassol District. A person, after being approached by members of the rescue team, was placed on a stretcher and handed over to the Ambulance crew for transfer to the Accident and Emergency Department (AED) of Limassol General Hospital.
