From 06:00 on 5 September 2023 until 06:00 on 6 September 2023, the Fire Service responded to 26 calls for assistance (10 fires, 15 special services and one false call).
At 04:41, a message was received about a fire in a wooden structure in the yard of a house in the Kyvides Community in Limassol District. The Fire Service responded with two fire engines from the Monovolik and Kybidis Fire Station and the fire was brought under control at 06:04. The fire caused extensive damage to the wooden structure, which was being used as a bar in the yard of the house. An investigation into the causes of the fire will follow later today, in cooperation with the Police.
In addition, at 06:05 today, Larnaca Fire Stations responded with three fire engines to a fire in two vehicles, which were parked in a covered parking lot of a private residence in the Oroklini Community in Larnaca District and the fire was brought under control at 06:31. The fire was noticed by the owners of the house, who had exited in time to a safe place without any danger and notified the fire. Due to the fire and heat, the vehicles in question were extensively damaged. Extensive damage was also sustained to the kitchen of the home, which was adjacent to the parking lot, and its contents. The causes of the fire will be investigated later today, in cooperation with the competent authorities.
