[PIO] The 10th Ministerial Meeting of the Small States Initiative (SCI) Europe Region of the World Health Organization in Cyprus.

Cyprus will host between 11-12 April 2024, the 10th Ministerial Meeting of the Small States Initiative (SCI) Europe Region of the World Health Organization.

The Small States Initiative (SCI), established in 2013, is a platform through which 11 Member States in the WHO Europe Region, with 2 million inhabitants or less, work together to address common issues and share experiences in order to improve population health in their countries. The participating countries are Andorra, Cyprus, Estonia, Cyprus, Estonia, Iceland, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, Iceland, San Marino and Slovenia.

The opening of the Summit, which will take place on Thursday 11 April 2024, at 09:00, at the Saint Raphael Hotel in Limassol, will be declared by the Minister of Health Mr. Michael Damianos. The Commissioner for Health and Food Safety of the European Union, Ms Stella Kyriakidou and the Regional Director of the World Health Organization for Europe, Mr Hans Henri Kluge, will address the audience.

The meeting will focus on issues related to cancer screening, childhood cancer and climate change.
