[PIO] Thank you from the Department of Forests: When active citizenship becomes action

An example to follow is the action of our fellow citizens who on Saturday, 10 August 2024 at 13:00, prevented a fire which started from the edge of the main road Prodromi-Drousia, probably due to carelessness of our fellow citizens.

To all those who were not indifferent when they saw the fire developing and managed to extinguish it with the little water they had in their canteens on their way to their holidays, the Forestry Department expresses its sincere thanks.

This is an example to follow, since if every citizen at the right time is not indifferent, neither our forests nor private property will be at risk. Much more, no human lives will be lost.

The Forestry Department congratulates and thanks these citizens who brought the fire under control before the arrival of the Forestry Department's forces, thus preventing it from spreading further.
