Intermediate consumption has the largest share (39.2%) in total use. The second largest share in total use is final consumption expenditure (27.2%), followed by exports (26.5%) and gross capital formation (7.1%). Intermediate consumption takes the largest share of total use in agriculture, forestry and fishing products (51.5%) and business services (46.1%). Final consumption expenditure is the main category of use in manufacturing (38.2%) and other services (88.7%), with the remaining use being mainly split between intermediate consumption and exports. Methodological Information

General Information

The Supply, Use and Input-Output Tables are an important part of the System of National Accounts, as they provide detailed information for the analysis of transactions in goods and services by sectors of the economy and consumers. They contain data by product and sector of economic activity and show the breakdown of domestic production and imports into intermediate consumption and final uses.

These tables are published annually, no later than three years after the end of the reference year, in accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EU) No. 549/2013.

Coverage and data collection

The tables cover the whole economy, including all institutional sectors, all products and all categories of economic activity. Economic transactions with foreign countries are also recorded.

The production of the tables is based mainly on the results of the annual economic surveys of the Statistical Office, administrative sources, general government data and adjustments calculated on the basis of the European System of Accounts 2010 (ESA 2010).
