The Cyprus Ports Authority, in cooperation with the Road Transport Department and KITION Ocean Port, carried out a successful inspection and information campaign at the Port of Larnaca, from 9 to 15 April 2024, on the subject of "Cargo Insurance Procedure for Vehicles".
During the campaign, incomplete or even incorrect methods of cargo mooring were identified, for which recommendations were made by the Road Transport Department.
The carriers demonstrated a spirit of cooperation and full compliance with the Road Transport Department's instructions.
The Cyprus Port Authority is committed to further strengthen the efforts to ensure safety and compliance of the road transport industry in relation to port operations.
This will be done through continuous monitoring, inspection and information campaigns, as well as training of stakeholders, always in cooperation with the Road Transport Department and the Larnaca Port Operators.
Finally, the Cyprus Ports Authority expresses its thanks to all stakeholders for their cooperation and support in the successful implementation of this initiative.
