Within the next few days the second ship will depart from Cyprus with humanitarian aid to the civilian population of Gaza, Government Spokesman Mr.

In his statements to journalists at the Presidential Palace, the Spokesman, when asked when the second ship will depart from Cyprus with humanitarian aid to Gaza, said: "The cargo has already been loaded on the second ship, the necessary checks have been carried out in accordance with the protocols agreed upon. There are parameters that have to be taken into account, including the weather conditions which have to be favourable for the second ship to be able to depart."

Within the next few days the second ship is expected to depart for Gaza.

Of course, the meeting that will be convened in Cyprus on 21 March, with representatives from 40 states, is also relevant, in order to ensure that the humanitarian aid that is reaching the civilian population in Gaza can be intensified and increased, but also to ensure this continuous flow of humanitarian aid."

Asked at what level the meeting will take place, the Spokesman replied. He also added: "There will be an exchange of views as to the logistical support with which each State can contribute to this very large effort. The scale of the humanitarian assistance currently needed by the civilian population in Gaza is such that the contribution of many states is needed. No state alone can cope, let alone Cyprus."

To another question he said that the 40 states include states that have signed the Joint Declaration, that have already welcomed the implementation of the initiative and many other states that intend to participate in the initiative.

"It is indicative that the day before yesterday, during the visit of the President of the Republic to Egypt, on a historic day for the relations between Egypt and the European Union (EU), the Prime Minister of Belgium sought a meeting with the President of the Republic and conveyed to him Belgium's intention to also participate in Amalthea," the Government Spokesperson said.
