"The Government will not follow policies that led Cyprus to social grocery stores", President of the Republic Nicos Christodoulides said tonight.
In his statements to journalists, while attending the Cyprus Theatre Organisation (THOC) Awards ceremony, and asked to comment on the opposition parties' reactions to the measures announced today by the Government, the President of the Republic said: "The measures are within the framework of a holistic approach, which this Government has been following very responsibly from the beginning. Subsidy policy through measures, wage increases through specific decisions and addressing the cost of energy through plans, because that is where the increase in prices comes from. I want to say something, inexpensive, fine statements and policies that have led Cyprus to social groceries will not be followed by this Government."
