A clear sky is not afraid of lightning, was the response of the President of the Republic Mr.Nikos Christodoulides, in relation to the issue of pensions raised by political parties.
In his statements to journalists, while attending an event at the School for the Blind, the President of the Republic, when asked about the issue of pensions, said that "I am very happy about the sensitivity of the parties that has now manifested itself, while many officials of these parties who came out and in announcements for so long had no sensitivity. Beyond that, the legislation is there, they can decide whatever they want and be sure that the executive will follow.
I am not in politics for reasons they want to invoke through their announcements. It is well known both my life and my polity. So, it is rainy weather, but clear skies are not afraid of lightning."
Asked about the issue of the Chief of Police, the President said that "there is nothing. When there is an announcement you will hear it. There is nothing, so the matter should be considered closed at this stage."
To a reporter's remark that there seems to be a blurred landscape, the President said "no blurred landscape, when there are announcements I will make announcements, there is nothing, no blurring."
Asked if he is looking for a replacement for the Police Chief, the President said "there is nothing to announce."
