We continue to work together with Mrs Holguín to achieve the goal of resuming the talks, President of the Hellenic Republic Nicos Christodoulides said today.
In his statements to reporters, coming to the facilities of the gas receiving terminal in Vasilikos, the President of the Republic, asked about the meeting he had with the Personal Envoy of the United Nations (UN) Secretary General (SG) for the Cyprus problem, Mrs. María Ángela Holguín Cuéllar, earlier today at the Presidential Palace, said: "I had a very good review meeting this week that Ms. Holguín was here.
We continue to work together with one single objective: the resumption of the talks.
Step by step I hope - certainly from our side this will is expressed - to achieve this objective.
Ms. Holguín will return again, first visiting some European capitals. Step by step to achieve the objective."
Asked about the results of Ms Holguín's efforts, he said he did not wish to anticipate or speak publicly about the results of Ms Holguín's efforts. "It is neither correct nor will we move forward on the Cyprus problem through communicative statements," President Christodoulides said.
He added "We are interested in the substance. And Ms Holguín is working towards the substance, which is the resumption of the talks."
