An exchange of views on anti-accuracy measures will take place at today's meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, President of the Republic Nicos Christodoulides said.
At the beginning of the meeting, at the Presidential Palace, President Christodoulides, addressing the members of the Council of Ministers, said.
One concerns the 'Amalthea' initiative which has been recognized by both the European Union (EU) and the United Nations (UN) Secretary General (SG)," adding that for the fund created last Friday, within the framework of the initiative, various actions and meetings should be taken by the relevant ministers for this purpose.
On another point, he said that new sanctions were imposed yesterday by the US, noting: "Today there will be new announcements regarding our cooperation with the US on the issue of sanctions."
Subsequently, the President said: "Today I also want to discuss the issues of accuracy. It is important that we have received two packages of measures, but we need to look at the measures that are expiring and see other additional measures. I want to hear your suggestions."
He went on to say: "It is important that we will approve today the plans relating to interdepartmental promotion and first appointment and promotion posts."
On the issue of Civil Service reform, President Christodoulides said: "It is important to address many problems that exist, to make the state more efficient, more friendly to the people."
He also said. We need to strengthen, and for me this is the most important thing, the existing framework of oversight and operation of the parastatals. It is important that we move forward today with the adoption of this proposal."
Finally, President Christodoulides said: "Because there is an impression in the world that the green tax will start on April 1, the green tax will [BE IMPLEMENTED] at the end of the year and we are also working on the compensatory measures that we need."
