A meeting has been arranged with the relevant officials of the Ministry of Labour on Tuesday, but because they had requested a meeting with us for information, we dutifully listened to them. However, the matter will be referred to the Ministry of Labour. We are ready for whatever assistance the Ministry of Labour needs, to assist in resolving this issue."
In response to a reporter's remark that workers are worried that the agreement may collapse and they may all be on the street, Vafeades said: "The workers link the issue of the contract with Kition to their labour issue. In our understanding, it is not linked. We have to manage a contract with a contractor. We have received the letter we were expecting from the Legal Service and they are clarifying what the next steps are so that we can protect the public interest."
