Ο Υπουργός Υγείας, κ. Μιχάλης Χατζηπαντέλα, με την ευκαιρία των εγκαινίων της πτέρυγας για post-COVID ασθενείς στο κέντρο αποκατάστασης Eden στην Τερσεφάνου, προέβη σε δηλώσεις σχετικά με το κέντρο και τη γενικότερη διαχείριση της πανδημίας ενόψει της μετάλλαξης Όμικρον.
Ο κ. Χατζηπαντέλα δήλωσε: «Νιώθω περηφάνεια γιατί καταφέραμε μέσα από μια διαδικασία προσφορών να δώσουμε την ευκαιρία στον Κύπριο ασθενή να έχει τις υπηρεσίες αυτού του κέντρου, που όπως και εσείς είδατε είναι ένα κέντρο μοναδικό, που υπάρχει μόνο στη Γερμανία. Αυτή είναι η Κύπρος μας. Right now we are leading the way and with a pioneering centre in terms of treating patients."
Asked how the need for the centre arose, Hatzipandela replied. We have studied these concerns, we have listened to people and what we have said we have now implemented, thanks to the efforts of the Director General and the team here, the Director of Oncology at Nicosia General Hospital and Mrs. Amalias Hatzigiannis who is the Director of the Reference Hospital."
When asked about the measures taken by the Ministry of Health regarding the onslaught of the pandemic, the Minister said: "We are constantly monitoring the situation regarding the Omicron mutation. Since yesterday, all patients admitted to our hospitals have been instructed by the Ministry of Health to be screened for the Omicron variant and we are seeing the numbers, the hospitalizations, on a daily basis and we are reacting accordingly, as we have been doing from the very beginning."
Director General of the Ministry of Health Dr. Christina Giannaki said in turn: "We have sent a letter to all the hospitals, and patients who are post-Covid and patients who have lung disease, doctors will be able to be referred to the committee appointed by the Ministry of Health, which is Mrs Tonia Adamidou, the director of the Pulmonology Department, Mrs Amalia Hatzigianni, the Scientific Director of Famagusta Hospital, and Mr Lakis Palazis. They will be addressed there, and they give the approval for patients to come here. There is a form that has already been sent to their email so that patients can sign and be referred. Εδώ το Κέντρο θα διαθέτει εκτός από τον Ειδικό Παθολόγο, Πνευμονολόγο και Διατροφολόγο, θα έχει έξι φυσιοθεραπευτές, λογοθεραπευτή, εργοθεραπευτή και ψυχολόγο. Η σύμβαση είναι για τριάντα ασθενείς, και ήδη φιλοξενούνται οι πρώτοι τέσσερις. Ο κ. Βάσος Παντελή, ο Επιστημονικός Διευθυντής του κέντρου, θα έχει συνεννόηση με τους τρεις ιατρούς για να υπάρχει ένας συντονισμός. Θα έρχονται τα ασθενοφόρα και θα φέρνουν εδώ τους ασθενείς. Απέναντι βλέπουμε το σημείο όπου έχουμε ασθενείς θετικούς στον κορωνοϊό, και αυτή τη στιγμή έχουμε 100 ασθενείς θετικούς».
Η Δρ Γιαννάκη πρόσθεσε πως υπάρχει ημερήσιο πρόγραμμα αποκατάστασης του κάθε ασθενούς, με φυσιοθεραπεία, εργοθεραπεία, υδροθεραπεία, πρόγραμμα διατροφολόγου, το οποίο διαμορφώνεται από το Κέντρο για τον κάθε ασθενή.
