Throughout the years we have been activating and mobilizing our strong diplomacy, Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letibiotis said today, noting that our country's diplomatic footprint is larger than its geographical borders.

In his remarks to reporters at the Presidential Palace, and asked to comment on Turkey's efforts to recognize the Pseudo-state in the Organization of Turkic States (OCT), and asked to comment on the presence of the Hungarian President at the OCT session, the Spokesman said: "These efforts, of course, by Turkey and by the occupying regime are longstanding. And it is over time that we are activating, mobilizing our strong diplomacy.

Our country's diplomatic footprint is clearly larger than our geographical borders and this can be seen and proven through the efforts of the last few months and over time.

It is certainly the reason why the Ministry responsible, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, had issued a statement as soon as it was informed of the presence of the leader of a member state of the European Union, but also the High Representative of the European Union, Mr. Borrell, in a written statement, has clarified, firstly, his support for the only recognised state, the Republic of Cyprus, which goes without saying, but at the same time, clarifying that the presence of the President of Hungary was not as President of the Council of Europe for this six-month period, but in his capacity as the leader of a Member State, which is still not something that can be tolerated.

Already, all the necessary diplomatic steps have been taken on the part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and any further steps will be taken as deemed necessary.

What is important and what this proves once again is that, yes, within the European Union, we want there to be this self-evident solidarity, this self-evident support for international law, for the Republic of Cyprus as the recognized state."
