The implementation of the government's plan for the management of Larnaca port and marina is progressing smoothly and the relevant works are being carried out normally, under the responsibility of the competent state services.
At the same time, the Government attaches particular importance to the implementation of labour legislation and the protection of the labour rights of the employees of the contractor company, approaching labour issues with due sensitivity.
To this end, a meeting has already taken place on Monday, 27 May 2024, with the representatives of the employees simultaneously with the service of the letter of termination of the contract and a consensus has been reached on the next steps to be taken.
In addition, a joint meeting of the workers' representatives with the Ministry of Labour and the Ministry of Transport has been scheduled to take place today, Wednesday, 29 May 2024, at 16:00, for information and coordination on the actions planned for the future of the workers.
