The Council of Ministers today approved a proposal to grant 2.8 million euros for the immediate relief of farmers affected by the fires that broke out on 31 May in the Municipality of Ipsona, Limassol District, on 11 June in areas of Paphos District and on 15 June in Farmakas, Nicosia District.
The purpose of direct compensation is to ensure the viability of farmers and livestock farmers who have lost either all or part of their production, means of production or infrastructure. As an immediate help to continue the agricultural and livestock activity of the affected persons, it has been decided that an initial advance payment of financial aid per beneficiary should be made immediately.
