Interpretation of the regulatory framework governing accounting work and the management of public resources in 75 new Circulars of the General Accounting Office of the Republic, which have entered into force from 1 January 2024

The General Accounting Office of the Republic announces that as of 1 January 2024 its new Circulars have entered into force, which are posted on the website of the General Accounting Office of the Republic under Legislation - Circulars. The previous Circulars have been repealed.

The work of updating the Circulars falls within the framework of simplification and modernization of the regulatory framework governing the accounting work and management of public resources.

In the context of this work, the following documents have been studied 1.817 Circulars of the General Accounting Office of the Republic, as well as the Circular Letters in force to date, have been studied and replaced by 75 new Circulars.

The aim of this initiative is to make the performance of accounting work and support for the management of public resources in general more efficient and effective. This is achieved since the principles governing the management of public resources and the interpretation of the regulatory framework are now contained in a limited number of Circulars per subject area, rather than being scattered in Circulars dating back several decades.
