The Nicosia Drainage Board informs the owners or holders of real estate in the Municipalities of Strovolos, Aglantzia, Eggomi, Lakatamia, Latsia and the Municipalities of Kato Deuteras and Anageia that in exercising the powers granted to it by Regulations 32, 33, 34 and 35 of the Nicosia Drainage Regulations of 1973 to 2017, it has decided and set for the year 2022 the following fees:
- €0.63 for every thousand euros of general assessment value as recorded or registered in the books of the District Land Registry of Nicosia, following the last general assessment of immovable property carried out under the provisions of Article 69 of the Real Property (Possession, Registration and Assessment) Law, for owners or occupiers of immovable property located within the boundaries of the Nicosia Drainage Board in the Greater Nicosia area and in the areas of the communities of Kato Deuteras and Anageia, which is already served or may be served by the Council's Sewage Drainage System, as specified in plans available at the Council's Offices.
- None of the above charges shall be payable in respect of any property situated within the boundaries of the Nicosia Sewerage Board area which has been declared an impervious area.
- The annual fees referred to above must be paid at the offices of the Nicosia Drainage Board, 9 Megalou Alexandrou Street, 1010 Nicosia and online via the Board's website www.sbn.org.cy, by 31st October 2022.
- In respect of the charges set out in paragraph 1 of this notice pursuant to Article 32 of the Sewerage Systems Laws 1971 to 2020, as of November 1, 2022, a surcharge on the unpaid amount equal to five percent (5%) shall be imposed in case of payment of said amount within four (4) months and a surcharge equal to 15% in case of payment after four (4) months from the expiration of the prescribed payment deadline, i.e. after March 1, 2023.
- €0.55) for each cubic meter of water consumed by each owner or occupant of a premises served by the Council's Sewage Drainage System. This charge shall be shown on the bill for the water consumed for each two or three months, as the case may be, and shall be paid at the same place and time as the corresponding water consumption charge is paid. Provided that the Council may by public notice change the time and place of payment of such charge.
In the event that owners or occupiers of real property falling within the above mentioned Municipalities and/or Communities do not receive a notice for payment of fees, they are requested to contact the Council either by visiting its Offices or by calling 22398500.
