Since the beginning of the current crisis in the Middle East, Cyprus has worked intensively and methodically for the implementation of the initiative to create a one-way sea corridor for the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. An initiative which is based on geographical proximity, on the excellent level of relations with all the parties directly involved, as well as on international humanitarian law.
The activation of Plan Amalthea led to the first sea mission through the Open Arms ship and the assistance of the World Central Kitchen, followed by a second mission in the near future.
